the father apparently ided his son's body before police arrived. >> the things are starting to appear to turn around. >> minutes before a tragic discovery. mike glenn was hopeful police would put more resources into his son's disappearance because he had just gotten the run away designation removed. then, colonel mike glenn received a call he feared most and he took off running through these woods, passing the grim faces of searchers who found a body. >> did you find something? >> he has been found. he's not okay. >> two of the searchers said they were sure the body was that of bryan glenn. they probably walked by it several times because the body looked like one of the searchers. it was upright, as if standing and looking toward the ground. >> in my personal opinion, it wasn't a suicide. >> people who knew bryan said that the high school senior did not seem distraught and would not have run away. >> he is such a normal kid.

some disturbing new details tonight about the failure rate of those tsa airport searches that anybody who flies has to suffer through. a confidential internal report finds that tsa screeners at one airport are missing far more oversize gels than they are catching. bruce leshan has the story. >> make sure everything is out of your pockets. >> they renamed newark, newark liberty. now comes a secret report from the tsa itself that its cleaners are failing to do what they are supposed to do to keep america safe. john is a law professor sat gw. >> any of my students who get less than 75, i'll fail them. here, the tsa itself says that its agents failed 80, 85, 100 percent of the time.

everybody should be scared and outraged. >> the tsa secret shoppers found screeners caught prohibited items and took appropriate action less than 25% of the time. they followed proper patdown procedures less than 17% of the time. and that they failed 100% of the time to tell people that they could opt out of a full body scan and go with a patdown. >> all the terrorists have to do is get through once. >> the tsa has lately been experimenting with something it calls behavioral detection instead of a physical patdown, it's like a verbal chatdown and this report proves it is a giant waste of time. >> the idea they will be trained to look for my microinspection or this trem in my voice, that's crazy. >> the investigation is the only one leaked publicly so far.

but if it's that bad at newark, a lot of people worry about failures at other airports, too. bruce leshan, 9news now. >> the agency is constantly evaluating workers in hopes of improving that performance. shocking news from van der sloot. he is going to be a dad. the 28-year-old is currently in prison for killing a 28-year- old woman back in 2010. he's the main suspect in the disappearance of natalie holloway. the mother of his child is named lady. according to prison records, she is registered as his girlfriend and the two have visits and they met through another inmate. danny devito and rita pearlman are calling it quits. the couple is separating. they work together on taxi. they tied the knot in 1982. they found jersey film. he currently stars in, it's always sunny in philadelphia.

pearlman is best known for her long running role on cheers. a pretty chilly columbus day out there. topper will let us know if it will warm up or if this fall weather is going to be with us for a while. and want to protect yourself from a stroke? which fruit you may want to munch on more often.

the number of people sickened by that deadly outbreak is now up to 105 and eight people are dead from it. most of the cases are in virginia, tennessee, and michigan. but there are also cases in maryland. and doctors expect the numbers to grow over the next few weeks. >> that period of time from the exposure to the on set of symptoms can be quite prolonged. up to a month and a little bit longer. >> now those symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness, and fever. and this is not contagious and treatment is expensive. you might want to have some tomatoes for dinner. they could lower the risk for a stroke. followed 1,000 men in finland and tested their blood. people with the highest amounts in their blood, 55% less likely to have a stroke. nutritionists say you can get more from tomatoes if you cook them. there you go.

in the mail bag tonight, some reaction to a judge's decision forcing metro to allow a pro israel subway ad that refers to muslims as savages. john says that ad should never have been posted. metro is cosh cautious about that ad. the ad hides behind the first amendment to call the members of a particular religion savages. i have no dogs in this hunt, but the ad for israel does not pass muster. it just insults the followers or islam. this is progress? well no, john, it's not exactly progress. i have to ask you, what would it mean if the judge ruled the opposite way? would it be progress to say that ads could be banned because people don't like the message? i've never been sure where we

should draw those lines, is most of the time, i argue the courts are right to err on the side of more speech, not less. and then there was this on the hit that took out robert griffin, iii, in yesterday's redskins game. craig from king george, virginia, said that hit was illegal. griffin was sliding feet first when weatherspoon slammed his shoulder into the left side of his helmet. weatherspoon could have tackled rg3, but chose to launch at griffin's head. after bounty gate, it will be interesting to see how the commissioner handles this. you are the only person i've heard or seen that says that hit wasn't legal. in the eyes of the officials, griffin was like a runningback going for a first down. besides, he wasn't sliding down, he started to go down, but the guy hit him while he was trying to get down. so he set himself up to get blasted, which is exactly what happened. most of washington stopped breathing for a couple of minutes when rg3 didn't get up right away. i'm hoping he is good to go next week. we would like to have your e-
